Leon Arthur Reynolds, 72, of 207 Division St., retired foreman of the Rutland Railway and retired Bennington volunteer fireman, died this morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for approximately three weeks.
The son of Henry and Mary (Shangraw) Reynolds, he was born in Wells, Vt., July 3, 1895. His schooling had been received in Wells and Flushing, L.I.. He had been a resident of Bennington since 1918. He first married Charlotte E. Brown and following her death in 1937, he later married the former Elizabeth Brine.
Mr. Reynolds before his retirement had been employed on the Rutland railroad for a number of years. He had been affliated with the various railroad groups including the Brotherhood. He had served for 20 years with the Bennington Fire Department before his retirement several years ago.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, L. Henry Reynolds of Bennington, Frank A. Reynolds of Brattleboro, George E. Reynolds of Petaluna, Calif., and Ivan H. Reynolds of South Glens Falls, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Louise) Burns of East Arlington and Mrs. Earle B. (Charlotte) Jaquith of Bennington; two sisters, Mrs. Michael Ryan and Miss Adelaide Reynolds, both of Glens Falls, N.Y.; one brother, Frank Reynolds of Glens Falls; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held in St. Peter's Episcopal Church at a time to be announced. Entombment will be in Park Lawn vault.
Friends may call at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

The two sons listed above that are not linked yet, both died in 2011. George Reynolds 1927 - 2011 and Ivan Reynolds 1929 - 2011.
