Helen Marie "Nell" Albers, daughter of Casper and Mary Reuter, was born March 25, 1936, at Fordyce, Nebraska. She graduated from the Catholic High School at Hartington, Nebraska.
On October 23, 1956, she was united in marriage with Lloyd Albers at Hartington. The couple moved to West Union where they made their home for many years. Lloyd's death occurred on August 15, 2005, and Nell continued to make her home in West Union until she moved in with her daughter, Sue in Hawkeye in 2008. Her death occurred at the Tripoli Nursing Home on Thursday, July 28, 2011. She was seventy-five years old and a longtime member of Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union where she was active in the Rosary Society.
Nell is survived by one son, Brian (Elizabeth) Albers of Barraboo, Wisconsin; three daughters, Sue Ungerer of Hawkeye, Jean Conway of Waukon, and Vivian Legge of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister, Marcella Schroeder of Norfolk, Virginia.
In addition to her husband, Lloyd, she was preceded in death by one son, Kevin; one grandson, Robert; her parents; four brothers, Leander, Jerry, Irvin, and Donnie; and two sisters, Bernadette and Delores.
