Mrs. John Anton Funeral Held at Waldorf
Mrs. John Anton who has been in failing health the past several years, died at her home in Mapleton, Friday afternoon, May 17. She had suffered from an heart ailment and death came without warning.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the United Church of Christ of Waldorf, with the Rev. Lloyd D. Fried officiating. Interment was made in the Vivian (Zoar) cemetery with the pallbearers, Carl Reuter, Walter Anton, Henry Ohden, Arthur Anton, Frank Ohden and Gerald Freese.
Mrs. Anton was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reuter and was born April 21, 1888 in Germany. On October 18, 1905, she was united in marriage to Mr. John Anton and after a short time, they moved to Minnesota and lived for 45 years on the Anton homestead, a few miles south of Pemberton, and twelve years ago moved to Mapleton where they purchased the home where she passed away.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Orville Anton of Trimont and two daughters, Mrs. Wilfred (Vera) Tilbury of Minneapolis and Mrs. Clarence (Rowene) Sizer of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is the last of her family of three sisters and three brothers.
