• Psychologist for Nyack School District for 37 years
• Born July 21, 1916 to James and Edith (Requa) Smith in Monsey, New York
• Died Tuesday, July 6, 1987 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey
• Great-grandfather, Levi Sherwood, started a lumber yard in Monsey that supplied wood to the Erie Lacakawanna railroad, whose trains then chugged through the middle of the hamlet.
• Grandparents continued the business which became known as the Glode Requa Lumber Co. The business ended in early 1970s.
• She lived in Monsey until 1968 when she moved to Upper Saddle River, New Jersey upon retiring from her Nyack school district position.
• Married John C. Botbyl in 1937
• Memberships: United Church of Spring Valley, Monsey Christian Reformed Church
• Survivors: Husband - John C. Botbyl; Daughters - Nancy Burghardt of Coral Springs, Florida; Mary Brault of Great Falls, Virginia; Five Grandchildren
• Funeral was held on Saturday, July 10, 1987 at 11 a.m. at United Church of Spring Valley. Burial followed at Brick Church Cemetery.
