Born in New York, she went to live in Utica with her aunt and uncle at a young age when her mother was killed in a car accident. While her aunt and uncle had money by standards back then, she was never allowed to be spoiled and needed to be a proper young lady. She learned to play the piano and her aunts Baby Grand was one of the things she cherished. She could play with or without music sheets and her fingers would flow over the keys. Although she was a "step" she loved her extended family very much and always included my other grandmother (my grandfathers first wife) in family gatherings and holiday events. She was a very selfless person who gave so much to so many.
