Jeanette Reiser Bilisoly, 75, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, after a two-year battle with cancer. Born to Theodore and Inez Reiser, in Lake Charles, she was a 50-year resident of Baton Rouge.
She was a graduate of LSU, past-president of the Baton Rouge Symphony Auxiliary, Ball Captain of the Krewe of Iduna, member of the Perennial Garden Club (Happy Hoers), docent at the Baton Rouge Zoo for 18 years, 50-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and at St. James Episcopal Church, she was past-president of the Mothers Club and of the Women of the Church. In addition, she was a 50-year member of Delta Gamma sorority for which she was a past Chapter Advisor and recipient of the Cable Award. In 2012, she was named an honoree for the LSU Greek Excellence Award.
Jeanette had two brothers, Edward Ernest Reiser (deceased) and sister-in-law, Barbie Reiser, and Benjamin Wight Reiser and sister-in-law, Rieta Reiser. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, John Lawrence Bilisoly; two daughters, Inez Bilisoly DiRosa and son-in-law Donald DiRosa, and Alice Bilisoly Bahlinger and son-in-law Gerald Bahlinger; a son, Philip Lawrence Bilisoly and daughter-in-law Trudy Stewart Bilisoly. Her grandchildren include Laura Lucille DiRosa and Robert John DiRosa, The Woodlands, Texas, Mary Elizabeth Bahlinger, Michelle Jeanette Bahlinger, Matthew Lawrence Bahlinger, and Molly Kathleen Bahlinger, all of Mandeville, and Cheryl Elizabeth Bilisoly and Johnathan Erick Bilisoly, both of Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be at St. James Episcopal Church until services, The Rev. Mark Holland will officiate. Private inurnment will be at the St. James Episcopal Church Columbarium at a later date.
