She was born Sept. 2, 1909, near Ilo, Idaho, (now Craigmont) to Oscar and Etta Reinhart. Her parents, four brothers and one sister preceded her in death. She attended country schools in the Reubens area. On March 10, 1927, she married Delmer I. Deffenbaugh. He died May 1, 1967. She worked as a cook at the Culdesac public school for many years, retiring in the 1970s. She was a member of the Culdesac Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and the Garden Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Shirley E. Deffenbaugh of Bryan, Texas; and four grandsons, Dr. Seth Bovey of Alexandria, La., Todd Bovey of Bellevue, Wash., Shawn Bovey of Dallas, Texas, and Cary Bovey of Round Rock, Texas. Four great-grandchildren also survive, Katherine Kelsen Bovey of Bellevue, Austin Bovey of Dallas, and Ryan and Shane Bovey of Round Rock.
Viewing will be Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel in Lewiston.
Services will be at Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Bill Caradine, Episcopal Church of the Nativity, officiating. Burial will follow at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston.
