Barbara Jean "BJ" Reimann, 68, of Ashton, Idaho, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.
She was born Oct. 17, 1943, to Carl "Jack" Reimann and Clara Belle Hill Reimann in Ashton. Barbara grewup in Greentimber, where she lived on the farm. She loved riding horses, and has always loved animals. She graduated from North Fremont High School in Ashton.
After graduation, she married Douglas Phelps and had three children. They were later divorced.
When the children were just little, Barbara loaded up her three children and moved to Washington. In Washington, she attended Kinman Business College. After graduating from Kinman, she worked in Spokane, Wash., at various jobs.
Barbara lived in the Spokane area for 38 years. While in Spokane, she made many lifelong friends, for whom she cared deeply. She moved home to Ashton in October 2009, after retiring from working for the city of Spokane Fire Prevention Bureau, to be closer to her family.
Barbara returned to the city of Spokane for a visit in late November. While there, she became ill and passed away due to complications of pneumonia.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by a brother, James (Lynda) Reimann of George, Wash.; her children, Felicia (Woody) Frederick of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Angela (Steve) Oberhansley and Scott (Shelly) Phelps, both of Ashton; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two nieces.
A celebration of Barbara's life was held in Spokane on Friday, Jan. 13. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Idaho, with Father Camilo Garcia officiating.
