Mrs. Mary Eliza Clayton, widow of the late Peter Clayton, of Englishtown, died at her home in Brooklyn, on May 5, 1896, after an illness of about a month.
She was born at Englishtown, the daughter of John Reid, and was 74 years old. Her late husband was a merchant at the latter place for many years. He died about 25 years ago. Mrs. Clayton was a resident of Freehold for
sometime before removing to Brooklyn. She was formerly a member of Old Tennent church. Funeral services were held there last Fridav, and the interment was made at the same place.
