Marie E. Collins, 97, was born into Eternal Life Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Teresian House surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born in Albany on Decoration Day in 1916, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Murphy Reid.
Marie was employed by the Department of Social Services Family Court for many years. Previously she worked in Whitney's, Myer's, Flah's, Mulfelder's and Mack Drug Store.
She attended daily Mass at Historic St. Mary's Church. Marie had a deep faith and was always the person you would ask to pray for you. Her smile and warmth were without equal. She treated everyone with the same love and respect.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Elmer M. Collins and her great granddaughter, Cathryn Marie.
She was the loving mother of Mary Theresa Abriel Jr (Warren); beloved grandmother of Michele Vagianelis (John); "Nanny Up" to William and Jack Vagianelis; sister of Agnes Pero and the late Anna B. McGee and Loretta Rightmyer
