Cody was a student at John Long Middle School. He enjoyed fishing, skate boarding, snow boarding, camping, basketball and baseball.
Cody is survived by his father Allen Reetz and his mother Trista Ziehr, sister Cassie Reetz and brother Pauly Ziehr, stepbrothers CJ, Chandler and Cammeron Avey. He is the loving grandson of James (Donna) Reetz, Laura King, Ray Duenkel, Scott Winkler and great grandson of Marie Winget, Arlene (Clarence) Voigt. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Cody was preceded in death by his great –great grandparents Mathias and Elfrida Bruendl, great grandfather Robert Winget, and grandparents Paul and Jean Winkler, great grandparents Arthur and Myrtle Duenkel.
Charles A. Avey used a necktie Sunday to strangle his stepson, 14-year-old Cody Reetz of Grafton, as payback to the boy's mother for reporting to police that he had beaten her with a hammer, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday.
