June Reeder, a composer, music teacher, pianist and lecturer, died Friday in Concord. She was 93.

The native of Jeffersonville, Ind., lived in Concord for two years and had been a Contra Costa resident for 29 years. She had been involved in music education for more than 50 years.

After retiring, she was involved with the Diablo Symphony Orchestra for 25 years. She was one of the founders of the Diablo Symphony Guild, Walnut Creek, and was its first president.

She was the first woman appointed on the executive committee of Music Teachers National Association; and was a member or officer of many other music groups, including Mu Phi Epsilon Sorority in St. Louis, Pacific Musical Society in San Francisco and California Federation of Music Clubs in San Francisco.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Reeder Wood of Concord; granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Reeder Wagner of Sacramento and Katie McCraw of Concord; and one great-granddaughter.

Her husband, Leland R. Reeder, died in 1981.

Services: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel.

Inurnment at Hull's Columbarium.
