Velma "Toots" Reed Moore, 69, died Wednesday, July 29 at Memorial Hospital of Converse County. She was born June 21, 1929 on the Lee Fowler Ranch in Converse County to John R. "Babe" and Jessie Waters Reed. She was educated at Dry Creek school. She married John Moore on April 1, 1950 in Harrison, Nebraska, then lived at the Nine Mile Ranch northwest of Douglas. She married Kenny Ivester on Dec. 31, 1986 in Douglas. She was active in the management of the family ranch until the time of her death. She is survived by children Echo Roy of Shoshoni and Jerry Moore and Floyd Moore, both of Douglas; sister Bev "Jeannie" Edwards of Douglas; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; husbands John Moore on Aug. 4, 1976 and Kenneth Leon "Kenny" Ivester on March 29, 1987; son Pat Moore on May 25, 1990; sister Violet Strand, and brothers DeWayne and Wayne Reed.
