Duxbury - Frances M. (Reed) Blanchard, 93, of Lewis Center, Ohio, formerly of Duxbury and Rockland, died Feb. 22, 2009, at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Marshfield, daughter of the late Waldo B. and Sarah E. (Porter) Reed, and was raised and educated in Duxbury graduating from Duxbury High School in 1933. She was a longtime Duxbury resident and had also lived in Rockland before moving to Ohio with her daughter 11 years ago.
She was a member of Columbia Chapter #33 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sunbury, Ohio, and had been a member of Duxbury Chapter, #219 OES and the First Congregational Church in Rockland.
Wife of the late Wendell P. Blanchard, she leaves her daughters, Eleanor L. Johnson of Jensen Beach, Fla., Beverly A. Johnson and her husband, Bruce, of Hingham and Helen B. Lowe and her husband, George, of Lewis Center, Ohio; her sister, Marie Heeks of Kingston; her grandchildren, Peter Johnson, Gwen McCann, Jeff Lowe, Gregory Lowe and Heidi Watton; her great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Brian Lowe, Evelyn and Allison McCann, Rachel Watton and Grace Lowe; her nieces; and a nephew.
She was the sister of the late Helen Brown.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 27, at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. The Rev. Donald Remick will officiate. Interment will take place in the spring at Plympton Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 26. Members of the Dorothy Bradford Chapter OES will conduct a service at 6:45 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lewis Center UMC, 1081 Lewis Center Road, Lewis Center, OH 43035, Attention: Board of Trustees.
