Mrs. Joan Rudd, 68, of Hornbeak died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Darren Ray of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Troy First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Bro. Jerry Leggett and Dr. Vann Kissell officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and at Troy First Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Bailey, Kyle Bailey, Cameron Bailey, Jeremy Northam, Adrian Lattus, Ryan Matheny, Reed Matheny, Dustin Ray, Walker Miller, Patrick Pentergast, Montana Powell, Brian Stacks and Lane Johnson.

The family requests that memorials be made the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, 901 E Street N.W., Suite 405, Washington, D.C. 20004; or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.

Mrs. Rudd was born April 28, 1944, in Michigan, daughter of the late Milton Reed and the late Esta Lee (Fraley) Reed Parkerson. She married David Matheny on May 5, 1963. He died May 27, 1973. She married Clyde Rudd on September 20, 1974. He died September 1, 2011. She was a former daycare operator and a homemaker.

She is also survived by six other daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and Travis Johnson and Shelby and Jerry Bailey all of Troy, Tremenda and Butch Dillon of Hutchinson, Kansas, Brenda and Mark Adams of Sedalia, Kentucky and Patricia and Bill Mathis and Betty Rudd all of Montalba, Texas; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Rick and Dianne Matheny of Cedar Grove and Tim Rudd of Union City; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Pam Reed of Bellevue, Nebraska, Don and Jerrie Reed of Southaven, Mississippi, Gerald Reed of Samburg and Glen and Wanda Reed of Union City; her brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Shirley and Dalton Moran and Doris Vaughn all of Union City, Carolyn and Jerry Grady of Troy and Charles Reedy of Michigan; nineteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Nath Parkerson.
