She married W.R. (Bill) Reed on July 20, 1946. She was an elementary teacher for 28 years in Houston, San Angelo, Marshall, and Tyler, Texas. LaPearl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking, sewing, music, crocheting, and making special gifts for her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She was also a gifted writer. After taking notes through many sermons in church, she compiled her own concordance of the Bible to pass on to her family. She was a faithful member of the church of Christ in all of the cities she and Bill lived in, and served as a bible class teacher in each church they attended. She was currently a member at the South Loop church of Christ. She will be missed by all her family and Christian friends, but they are comforted by the knowledge that she was a wonderful Christian lady and will be welcomed into heaven by her Lord.
LaPearl was preceded in death by her father Frank Newsom, mother Euphenia Talley, and husband Bill Reed.
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie LaPearl Reed will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Mike Gibson officiating.
