THOMAS REECE DEAD

Had Lived in Johnson County for More Than Fifty Years.

Thomas H. Reece, eighty~four years old and for more than fifty years a citizen of Johnson county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Artie Dunn in East Franklin this morning at ten o'clock. Death was due to neuralgia of the heart.

Mr. Reece was born in Clark county, Indiana, where he lived until he was about thirty years old when he moved to Johnson county. For ten years he lived on a farm in Second Mt. Pleasant neighborhood and about forty years ago moved to Franklin. Mr. Reece was one of the oldest members of the Baptist church. Both he and his wife joined the church at Second Mt. Pleasant and when they came to Franklin they transferred their memberships to the local church.
Mr. Reece is, survived by a widow and three children, one son, Albert, of Franklin and two daughters, Mrs. Artie Dunn, Franklin, and Mrs. Dessie Overstreet of Rocklane. A daughter, Mrs. Elvira Keay died seventeen years ago. No brothers or sisters survive as Mr. fleece was the last member of his family.

The death of her husband is especially sad and pathetic for Mrs. Reece. They had lived together in peace and happiness for sixty-four years. There was only fifteen days difference in their, ages and they always were thoroughly congenial. The children say they cannot remember their father and mother ever having spoken an unkind word to each other. Mrs. Reece is completely heart broken and only the memory of her happy wedded life reconciles her to the death of the one who had been her constant and faithful companion for so many, many years.

Funeral services, which will be private, will be held at the home, Monday afternoon. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery. By special request Prof. C. H. Hall will officiate.
