The daughter of Samuel Herbert Doty from, Ingersoll, Oxford, Ontario, Canada and Lucy Ann Beals from Wheeling, Marshall County, West Virginia.
Mabel's parents were married 26 November 1873 in Belleville, Republic County, Kansas, they had a family of seven children, all born in Belleville, the first in 1874 and the last being Mabel in 1890.
Cousin June said her mother loved nice clothes and would spend a lot of time making sure her children looked nice before leaving the home.
She was a master housekeeper and cook her daughter June stated,however she would take time for herself to make sure she was presentable in every way. She wasn't above making her family wait for a bit while she primped June said laughing, it was just fine with her father as he loved his beautiful wife.
Mabel taught grade school in Redmond, Oregon and after moving to Portland in 1934 she taught art in her home.
The mother of, June Lenore Redifer King,John Chesley Jr, Mary Jean and Stanley James Redifer.
Mabel had nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren when she passed away.
