I don't remember a lot about Uncle Vernon, what I do recall is his smile that was always there. A kind and gentle soul my mother always said. Like all his brothers, he was tall and thin.I loved the family reunions as I would get to see all my great Uncles and Aunts, my cousins, and there were many, Uncle Vernon must of loved them also as he never missed any, even when much older.
Sometimes I recall how all those Redifer men looked standing together for their pictures to be taken, proud, tall, handsome and always smiling!
As told to Vern Odell in 1987 by Aubrey Redifer, when in his 80's Vernon began writing scripts for radio and,or T.V. but did not have any luck selling them. He asked my sister to type them for him as they were all handwritten.
Uncle Vernon and his wife Ada divorced before 1930 and she moved away and married Orville Cox.
Vernon lived with his sister Virgia and her husband Floyd Craig and their two young children after the divorce and was still residing there in 1930. I don't recall ever seeing Uncle Vernon with anyone else. His wife Ada Mae and my grandmother shared the same first and middle names and the same birth state Michigan.
Uncle Vernon and Ada had two children, Robert Yale Redifer and Vernice Almira Redifer.
Ada Mae Frey born to Alton S.Frey and Dora Aletha Littabaugh,26 June 1893 in Reeder,Missaukee County, Michigan, died in San Diego County, California 18 Jul 1955.
