Franciska Unkraut Reder was the daughter of Johann Friederich Unkraut and Maria Anna Kröger. She was born on Dec 6 1850, in Goldenstedt, Vechta, Niedersachsen, Germany. She immigrated to the US in 1871, arriving in New York on 31 Oct 1871. She married Heinrich (Henry) Reder in 1874 at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. They had three children: Harry Gerhard, Eduard and Maria. Eduard and Maria died as infants. Franciska died on April 16, 1882 in Cincinnati, Ohio and is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Shortly after her death, her husband married Maria Elisabeth 'Lizzie' Enneking.
