Convicted in the October 19, 1981 shooting and drowning death of Carolyn Kay Davis, 22. Her bruised body was found in Town Lake (Austin). Rector was arrested the same night near the apartment complex where Davis lived. He was wearing the victimís blue jeans, and carrying her rings and necklace.
