George "Brud" "Gorgeous George" Rebstock Jr., 77, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday, Nov. 21 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow, with a military service at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be held at noon Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dora Mae Lee Rebstock; two sons, Roy Cheramie and wife, Stacey, and Todd Cheramie and companion, Katherine; daughters, Debbie Pellegrin and Daniel Sr., Lisa Lee and Ludovic Sr., Loretta Dardar and Jimmy, Rebecca Cheramie and companion, Jessie Trahan, Melisa Potts and Mark Sr., Leonore Turner and Kahlil; and 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three nieces, two nephews and one goddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Rebstock Sr. and Leonore Curole Rebstock; two grandchildren, Leroy Pellegrin and Sherell Mobley; one sister, Dora Rebstock Doucet; and brother-in-law, Herman Doucet Sr.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. He received a U.S. Army veteran National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and he was a member of the American Legion Post 401. He worked and retired from Petroleum Helicopters Inc. after 32 years.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
