Mrs. Ready was born in Platte Center, Nebraska, November 1, 1905; the fifth of 11 children and first daughter born to Peter and Mary Ann Schilz..
After being educated at private Catholic boarding schools, Mrs. Ready came to Denver in 1921 with her brother, John. She married businessman Fred M. Thompson, a widower with two young children in 1926; the following year their daughter Donna-Lee was born. After the marriage failed she worked as a governess for a doctor's family, a housekeeper and seamstress..
She married Joseph E. Ready on August 2, 1939, in Denver. He passed away in January, 1989, at age 94..
Mrs. Ready is mother of Donna-Lee Armstrong; mother to Eleanor Hull and the late James Thompson; grandmother of Shelley Howard and Sherryl Rainwater, great-grandmother of Eric Blankenship, D'Ree Howard, Chad Howard, Joleigh Rainwater, Sean Rainwater, and Michael M. Musashi. Great-great-grandmother of Travis Howard, Breanna Howard Olivas and Joseph Massey. Godmother of Randall Schilz. Also survived by two sisters, Esther Meyer and Romana Soucie and one brother Loenard Schilz, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives..
Services were Monday, November 25, with burial at Ft. Logan.
