Services for Naoma Rea Burns, 92, Canton, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Bro. Paul Fike, Bro. Carl Rea and Bro. Leon Sharp officiating.
Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton.
Mrs. Burns died November 27, 2007, in Tyler.
She was born August 8, 1915, in Fruitvale to William Carlus and Annie Bell Goff Rea. She grew up in Van Zandt County, living in the area most of her life. She was a member of Church of Christ for 53 years. She was a beautician for many years, volunteering her time providing nail and hair services to the Canton nursing homes. She was a member of AARP, the Van Zandt Art League and helped deliver meals on wheels for many years. She helped raise funds for the fair and the Van Zandt County Library. She was named Citizen of the Year at one time.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, R.K. "Zeke" Burns; and daughter, Judy Stamper.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Wayland and Barbara Burns, and Philip burns, all of Canton; son-in-law, Jimmy Stamper, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kirk, Joe, Ron, Paul, Brandon, Kyle Burns, Jay, Josh and Jacob Stamper, and Janie Klein; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Mary Ann Rea, Wills Point; sisters, Beatrice Garrison, Tyler, and Betty Rea, Amarillo; nieces, nephews and other relatives; and caregivers, Barbara Reynolds and Ruby Ranne.
Pallbearers included Clayton Conway, Lonnie Browning, Mike Phillips, Jerry Teel, Rex Reynolds and Charles Humphreys.
