Clara L. Rea Anderson, 98, of Seguin, died in the Seguin Hospital March 12, 1988, following a short illness. The funeral service was held Tuesday, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Seguin. Burial followed in the Fort Sam Houston Government Cemetery in San Antonio where Mr. Anderson was buried.
Clara Rea was born in Hamilton County February 20, 1890, the fourth of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Rea. She married Felden W. Anderson of Clifton in 1918, in the Rea ranch home. [Married: 08/05/1918, Hamilton County Marriage Record Book 7, p. 248] To this union were born three children, all of whom survive her; one daughter, Dorothy Anderson Sagobiel, Thomas W. Anderson Jr. and Jack W. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson died in 1958 in San Antonio where he had practiced law since World War l.
Clara graduated from Clifton Lutheran College and from C.I.A. in Denton. She taught school in Indian Gap and Comanche before she married. After they settled in San Antonio, she taught Home Economics in the public schools for many years.
Clara Rea Anderson is survived by her three children; 13 grand children; 15 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Milton Rea of Hamilton; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
