"On Thursday morning at the home of her parents in this city occurred the death of Miss Bettie Rea, youngest daughter of Judge and Mrs. Joseph Rea.

She had been a sufferer for the past eight or ten years, but her death came as a thunderbolt out of a clear sky. She was, when able to be about among her relatives and friends, a very pleasant companion and had many friends who deeply mourn with the parents and brothers and sisters in the sad affliction. Several years ago she united with the Christian church was was also a member of the endeavor society of that church.

She was born in this city in 1880 and had lived here and on the farm near Rea since. Besides her parents, she leaves six brothers and two sisters to mourn their loss. They are Thomas of Albuquerque, N.M., John of Bentonville, Ark., Earl of Marshall, Mo., and James, Claude and Frank, all of this city; Mrs. Cush Lewis of Barnard and Miss Ellen of this city.

The funeral services will be conducted Sunday. Interment will be at Savannah cemetery." Savannah Reporter (Savannah, Missouri), January 13, 1905
