James was a native Austinite born April 23, 1966 and entered eternal rest at the age of 29 on April 1, 1996. He was a graduate of Crockett High School. No one put up a bigger fight to live, yet was so brave facing death. The family is so proud of his courage and determination against the unbeatable odds. His pain is no more, bit ours will last foever as will our love in his memory. He is survived by his mother, Juanita Cromartie Ray, father James Ray, sisters Vicki Ray, Lisa Preston and husband Tom, nephew Matt Preston, niece Sara Preston, grandmother Maureen Cromartie, uncles, Jack, Jim and George Cromartie, and Richard Daywood, aunts Dorothy Butler, Virginia Daywood and Sammie McCain.
