Ann E. Shornock, 71, Greenville, N.C., died Monday, Nov. 10, 2014.

A private family service will be held in Pennsylvania at a date to be determined.

Ms. Shornock, a native of Camden, N.J., and a long-term resident of Eastern North Carolina, was a retired employee of 27 years at what was then Beaufort County Hospital as a registered respiratory therapist.

She is survived by two sons: Jeffery John Shornock of Knightdale, N.C.; Wesley John Shornock of Pinetown, N.C.; daughter, Elizabeth Rose Shornock, of Greenville, N.C.; sister, Shirley Raup, of Catawissa; and brother, Paul Raup, of Millville.

She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael John Shornock.

Ann enjoyed gardening, geology, and reading. She would volunteer literacy tutoring to elementary and middle school students.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pet Pantry of Pitt County.
