She was born on April 8, 1924 in Helvesick, Germany. She immigrated to Int'l Falls in 1951 where she has lived ever since.
The former Marianne Rathje was united in marriage on November 29, 1951 to Edmund Liedke at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, and taking care of her houseplants.
Marianne was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; she was baptized at the Evangelical Covenant Church on May 8, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Hermann and Maria (Meyers) Rathje, and a brother; Hermann Rathje, Jr.
Marianne is survived by her husband; Edmund Liedke of Int'l Falls, son; Dennis (Christa) Liedke of Int'l Falls, daughter; Rosemarie (Bill) York of Fort Frances, grandchildren; Brian, Christina, and David York, Angela and Matthew Liedke.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Monday, July 12, 2004 at the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorials would be preferred to the KBHW Radio Station in her memory.
