Obituary from The Bienville Democrat April 17, 1924:

Loved Woman of Mt. Lebanon Passes Away

Rev. J.C. Cox, pastor of Arcadia and Mt. Lebanon Baptist churches, conducted the funeral services on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Mt. Lebanon church for Mrs. Wimberly Baker, who died at her home in Mt. Lebanon after and illness of several months, although not appearing to be serious until the week before her death.

Mrs. Baker, who was before her marriage, Miss Fannie Ratcliff of Minden, was comparatively a young woman, full of the activities of life. She was very prominent in all church work and other interests. She was a very successful collector in the Baptist 75 Million Campaign, and those who have experienced it know that it is a very arduous undertaking. Mrs. Baker was a woman of most lovable personality, and a disposition that endeared her to all whose lives touched hers - and she will be sadly missed from every circle, for she was true to every relation and obligation of her full life, and though her public spirited mind prompted her to service in her church and her community, she was no less a home maker and devoted wife and mother.

She has been a member of Mt. Lebanon church since she was 16 years of age, and in the same old church, all that was mortal of her was lovingly carried, and surrounded by many relatives and a host of loving friends, numberless beautiful floral offerings, the funeral service was impressively conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.C. Cox. The attendance of friends was unusually large, attesting the esteem in which she was held. A large number of friends were there from Arcadia, Minden, Gibsland, Shreveport, Sarepta, and many other places. The music was beautifully rendered by Mrs. J.C. Cox, Mrs. Jack Davis, and Miss Mary Madden of Arcadia, and Messrs. Leyton Aubrey and Melton Courtney of Mt. Lebanon.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband, Mr. Wimberly Baker, her sons and daughters, all of whom were present at her funeral. They are: Mrs. Carrie Gantt of Gibsland, Mr. Will Baker of Arkansas, Mr. Clint Baker of Gibsland, Mr. Claud Baker of Mt. Lebanon, Mr. Jim Baker of Mt. Lebanon, Mrs. Mamie Sutton of Mt. Lebanon, Mrs. Aolean Skaggs of Dallas, Texas. Three sisters, Mesdames Taylor of Shreveport, Allen of Sarepta, O'Neil of Minden; a brother, Mr. Ratcliff of Minden, and many other relatives.

Relatives from Arcadia who attended the funeral were Mr. Wimberly Baker, Mesdames Morrow and Woodard. To the bereaved, much heartfelt sympathy is extended.

The remains were interred in the Mt. Lebanon cemetery, there to peacefully rest until "God's finger touches" her and she awakens from her sleep.
