Funeral services for Alton Marris Raper, Rt. 1, Powderly, will be held Thursday, September 22, at 2 p.m. in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Raper died Tuesday, September 20, at McCuistion Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 17, 1910, in the Maxey community, a son of Henry Luther Raper and Etta Alice Moore Raper.
He retired as a welder at Babcock and Wilcox after 20 years service. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a machinist.
He married Dorothy Oletta Goodman on Aug. 4, 1951. He was a Baptist.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Don Stuckey of Paris; a sister, Mrs. J. N. (Sarah) Armstrong of Paris; a brother, H. L. Raper of Powderly and two grandchildren.
