JOHN WILFORD RANKIN, 78, of 242 Silverage, retired from Joseph E. Seagram and Co., died Saturday at Methodist Healthcare-South. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Golden Cross Funeral Home has charge. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Rankin, the husband of Berthanna Rankin, also leaves two daughters, Ida Christine Martin and Tammy F. Jones; a son, John W. Rankin Jr., and two brothers, Thurman Rankin and Cleveland Rankin, all of Memphis, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. (Published in The Commercial Appeal on October 3,1 2002)
