HAROLD ALLEN RANKIN, SR., 88, retired Merchandise Manager with Sears Catalog Division, passed away February 11, 2009 after complications from a hip fracture.

He was born in Corinth, MS, July 2, 1920. He graduated from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS and served In the Navy during WW II, with four years of active duty and eight years in the reserves.

He leaves his wife, Elizabeth Faucette Rankin; a daughter, Rebecca Rankin Wigand; a son, H. Allen Rankin, Jr.; four grandchildren, Rhiannon Meyer, SSG Noel C. Rankin, Jonathan Wigand and Emily Wigand, and one great-granddaughter, Wiamea Rankin.

Services honoring this gentle, loving man will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home on 2440 Whitten Rd. The visitation will be Friday, February 13 from 5-7 p.m. and the funeral will be Saturday, Valentine's Day, February14at2p.m. Donations made in his name can be made to Baptist Trinity Hospice or The Alzheimer's Association.
