Joyce Fidelia Hanson, age 84, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 14, 2011.
She was born the daughter of Harry and Inez (Finney) Randall April 26, 1927, in West Allis, and was united in marriage to Richard M. Hanson in Waukegan, Ill., Nov. 13, 1949. Joyce spent her life celebrating and cherishing her role as a daughter, sister, wife, mother grandmother, aunt and friend. Her lasting legacy has been to instill in us the love for family, and caring for others. Her faith has provided her great perseverance throughout her life.
Joyce is survived by her loving children, Richard M. (Kathy) Hanson Jr., Tina (Scott) Roth, Bridget (Jon) Wilson; cherished grandchildren, Sage, Daniel, Anya, Hannah, Grant, Emma, Cassidy, Madeline, Benjamin and Sawyer; her sister, Charlotte (Joe) Melter; brother, Doug (Sherril) Randall; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her supportive neighbors, the Maloney family, Mayhall family, Pappas family, Shaw family, Jennifer, and many others. Through their love and help, Joyce was able to live in her own home, until God called her home.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; and her siblings, Evelyn, Blanche, Irma, Lois, Inez, Wallace and Harry.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
