Ruth Randall Campbell, 89, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Sterling Village after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly forty years, Walter C. Campbell, who died in 1980. She is survived by her son, David W. Campbell of Worcester; two daughters, Eileen Roberts of Hudson, and Martha Ford and her husband James Ford, Jr. of Lancaster. She is pre-deceased by two brothers, Herbert and Stephen Randall, and her sister, Hazel May Tarbell.
Ruth was born in Uxbridge to the late Reuben and Mary (Eaton) Randall. She attended Bolton schools and was a graduate of the Hudson High School Class of 1939. She began employment with the former Worcester State Hospital where she worked prior to raising her family. Ruth later became the Children's Librarian at the Hudson Public Library, where she enjoyed nearly 23 years until her retirement. She further worked for the Hudson Senior Center and volunteered time for the Bolton Historical Society.
She celebrated laughter with a wonderful sense of humor and led a life of example united between her family and faith.
A funeral service was held in the First Parish of Bolton.
