Zelma C. Byerly, 69, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Chester M. and Anna Styer Ranck. She graduated from the New Holland High School in 1954.

She spent her working years as a secretary for Albert Abdala, a certified public tax accountant in Coatesville, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Trinity in Coatesville, where she had served on the vestry and was treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #249 of Coatesville, and the AARP.

She is survived by three daughters, Denise Lynn Sharrer, and husband William, of Coatesville, with whom she made her home, Donna L. Wilson of East Fallowfield, Michele Lisa, wife of Albert Thomas, of Cleona; one son, John Eric Byerly, and wife Marjorie, of Honey Brook; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Ranck of Parkesburg and A. Clair Ranck of Strasburg; and one sister Anna Romain Summers of Tel-Hai.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Chester, Urban, Raymond, Aldus and Roy; and one sister, Edna Rice.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, followed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville.

A viewing will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by services conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #249 of Coatesville at the funeral home on Thursday at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Trinity at the above address.
