Nancy R. Taylor of Paoli

Nancy R. Taylor died on a sunny morning last week, March 13, 2013, with her family by her side.

She lived at Highgate at Paoli Point, an assisted living facility, for the past 6 years due to the impairment of Parkinson's Syndrome.

Born and raised on a farm in Lancaster County, she was the eldest of four daughters to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Ranck.

In 1944 she was the valedictorian of a high school class of 18, and subsequently trained and worked as a phlebotomist in Lancaster and Philadelphia.

She married the late Jack Taylor, a chemist with Rohm and Haas, in 1950, and raised three children, Judy, John, and Jane in the the Malvern/Paoli area.

She was an active member of The Paoli Presbyterian Church. She served with a number of charitable organizations, among them Paoli Hospital Women's Auxiliary (35 years). She was a member of The Daughters of The American Revolution, and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her children, John and Jane; her three sisters, Joan Groff, Mary Lou Lee, and Barbara Ashenfelter; and six nephews and nieces. Her husband died in 1996, and her eldest daughter, Judy, died in 2010.

A memorial service is being held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th, at Paoli Presbyterian Church.
