Born in Alliance, Ohio December, 1921 and died October 16, 2013.
Beloved wife of the late Fred Raffin for 45 years. Loving mother of Betty Arnold (late husband Jim), Nancy Montes (husband Tony), the late Eileen Donahue and Bill Raffin (wife Irene). Dear sister of the late Nelson Lenardon (wife Marilyn). Cherished grandmother of Sonya Wodopianov, Jimmy and Steven Donahue and Marc Raffin.
Evelyn worked as an executive secretary for many years, under the President of Southwest Airways and West Coast Construction Manager of F.W. Woolworth to name a few. Her true passion was classical music as she studied opera as a young woman in New York and later took piano lessons for 12 years during retirement. A member of the Peninsula Choraliers & St. Dunstan's Church Choir for 20 years, Burlingame Music Club and Hillsborough Guild of the Peninsula Symphony for 25 years holding positions of VP and Entertainment Chair. Cooking family dinners, baking her prized lemon meringue pies, crocheting, knitting, embroidering, painting and gardening were all very important to her. She also loved traveling through the U.S., Europe, China and Mexico.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Saint Dunstan Catholic Church, 1133 Broadway, Millbrae. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma. Visitation on Sunday after 2:00 PM at the CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, El Camino Real at 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae, with a Vigil Service at 3:00 PM.
As a two time survivor of cancer, in lieu of flowers she requested contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
