WILLIAM RUTHERFORD

William U. Rutherford, 82, of 110 Lincoln Ave., Cleveland, died Friday evening, Aug. 5, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1:30 .m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei, Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. William B. Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Rutherford was born April 11, 1901, at Manitowoc, son of the late Perry and Minnie Snyder Rutherford. He grew up and was educated at Manitowoc, graduating from Manitowoc Business College. He married Jessie L. Ritchie Aug. 15, 1927, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 1962. Mr. Rutherford was one of the founders of Color Craft Printers and formerly owned and operated Rutherford Surf Hotel at Cleveland. He served on various appointed and elected county village positions. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a 57 year member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 687 and past exalted ruler serving from 1932 to 1939.
Survivors include a son, William F. Rutherford of Appleton; a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Robin Anderson of West Bend; two brothers and a sister-in-law, George and Muriel Rutherford of Manitowoc, and Kenneth Rutherford of Maribel; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Vincent of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances Ritchie Kruck of Manitowoc; five grandchildren, Bruce Anderson of Germany, David Anderson of West Bend, and William, John and Kristine Rutherford of Hudson, Wis., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alma, and a granddaughter, Katherine.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei, Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home from 5 o’clock to 8 o’clock this Monday evening and Tuesday until the time of services. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Elks National Foundation.
