Rutherford, Kurt A.

Kurt A. Rutherford, age 42, of 1445 North 7th Street, Manitowoc, went to his eternal home in heaven on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Northridge Nursing Care Center of Manitowoc.

Kurt was born on June 23, 1971, in Manitowoc, son of Marge (Klimesh) Rutherford and the late Perry Rutherford. When he saw there was no cure, God wrapped his loving arms around Kurt and called him home. The happiest day of his life was when his son Xavier was born on September 27, 2002. Kurt was a die hard Packer fan. He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and gave his life over to Christ.

Survivors include one son: Xavier Rutherford, Green Bay; mother: Marge Rutherford, Manitowoc; one sister: Kathy Rutherford, Manitowoc; one brother: Kevin "Rooty" Rutherford, Manitowoc, three aunts; one uncle, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father: Perry Rutherford; brother: Kenny Rutherford.

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev.'s Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate with burial of his cremated remains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Rutherford family with funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff at Northridge Nursing Care Center for all the compassion shown to Kurt during the last eleven months. Also to Don Leist, special volunteer, for all the countless hours he spent visiting with Kurt.
