Mrs. Florence H. Rudie, 87, of 722 N. 9th Street, Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, December 10, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church Chapel. The Rev. Richard E. Lind will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Rudie was born September 29, 1897, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late William and Fredricka Keune Williamson. Mrs. Rudie attended Manitowoc School System. She continued her education at Greg Business School of Chicago. Mrs. Rudie then returned to Manitowoc where she worked for O. Torrison company as a bookkeeper from 1916 until 1979 when she retired. She married Elton Hanson and he preceded her in death in 1923. She then married Oscar Rudie and he preceded her in death in 1953. Mrs. Rjd (sic) Rudie was a member of Rebecca Lodge Number 18 in Manitowoc of which she held all offices. She was past president of District Number 14. Mrs. Rudie was Marshall in the Rebecca Assembly in the State of Wisconsin. She was a member of 400 Club Lodge. Mrs. Rudie was a member of first Lutheran Church, Altar Guild of the church, First Lutheran Church Women and a confirmation and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Rudie was also a member of the church choir.
Survivors include a son-in-law, William A. Bryant of Manitowoc; a sister and a brother-in-law, Margaret and Alfred Wanke of Sturgeon Bay; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Ronald (Lenore) Jost, Robert L. Bryant, Rickie Jean Beilfuss, Mrs. Thomas (Katherine) Rozanski, Grant Lee Bryant, Randall S. Bryant and Mrs. James (Candace) Ritzenthaler; nine great grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Mrs. William P. (Paige) Bryant; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survived. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Bryant; a grandson, William Patrick Bryant; two brothers and a sisters (sic) sister.
