Marie Marceline Goulet, daughter of Joseph Goulet and Marguerite Bouchard, was born on 25 May 1850 in Sainte Claire, Dorchester, Québec, Canada and baptized the following day. She married Hubert Ruel, son of Flavien Ruel and Marie Josephte Lemelin, on 16 Oct 1871 at Sainte Claire. They had fifteen children, nine of whom survived to adulthood. She immigrated with her family to America about 1893, and settled in Somersworth, Strafford, New Hampshire. Two of her daughters traveled the world as the wives of diplomats. One of her grandsons was an actor and author, and served with British Intelligence during World War II. Marceline died at age 77 and was interred in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth.
