Clara E. Rothmund, age 93, of Harmony of Manitowoc East, 1448 N. Seventh St.,
Manitowoc, formerly of 1430 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc, entered eternal rest
Saturday evening, July 24, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Innocents Catholic
Church, 1121 N. 14th St., Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Clara was born Dec. 2, 1910 in the town of Two Rivers, Manitowoc County. She was
the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Huss Funk. Clara attended Washington High
School in Two Rivers and was a longtime employee at Montgomery Ward in Manitowoc
until retiring in 1974. On Oct. 1, 1930, she married Lester A. Rothmund at St.
Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death April 11, 1973. Clara
was a charter member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and a charter member of the
Christian Women of Holy Innocents. Clara was also a member of the daughters of
Isabella and the Manitowoc Senior Citizens.
Clara is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Kathleen Rothmund,
Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Mrs. Lois Elliott, Manitowoc;
Joan (Brey) and Larry Keehan, Manitowoc; Lila and Elmer F. Free, Manitowoc; one
sister: Hyacintha Grenier, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Joan Funk, Mishicot; 13
grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends surviving. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester; two
brothers: Raymond Funk and Wilbert Funk; two sisters: Marcella Samz and Isabella
Jost; one son-in-law: Bob Elliott.
Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
with a prayer service being held at 7:30 p.m. lead by Deacon Paul Kieffer followed
by the Daughters of Isabella.
Relatives and friends may also call at Holy Innocents Catholic Church on Wednesday
from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc
is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
