Serafina "Sara", a lifelong resident of Espaņola, was predeceased by parents Lucano Quintana and Maria Cresenciana Ortiz; brothers: Marcos and Luis "Louie"; and first husband Alfredo Montoya.
Sara was survived by son Atanacio Alfredo "Fred" Montoya of San Pedro; 2 daughters: Regina Martinez and Roma Compher, both of Albuquerque; 3 sisters: Martina "Martha" Hidalgo, Maria Buenabentura Teresina Martinez, and Gloria Silva; brother Orlando Leocadio Quintana; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Sara was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was a member of the Carmelita Society, served as a Eucharist minister, and a member of the choir.
Funeral services were on July 31 in Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz. Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers: Mike Montoya, Vincent Montoya, Joseph Montoya, Del Martinez, Don Martinez, and Daniel Martinez. Honorary pallbearers: Henry Hidalgo, Stuart Hidalgo, David Hidalge, Eloni Walker, Bridget Hall, Dominic Stape, Michelle Baca, Billie Baca, Johnny Montoya, Mary Montoya, JoAnn Montoya, and Marcus Martinez.
