SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco resident Maria Cora Carson, 83, passed away October 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Cora was born on February 1, 1929 in San Francisco, Colo. the daughter of Doroteo Quintana and Natividad Sanchez Quintana.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed going to bingo, camping, garage sales, picnicking, gambling, chopping wood, playing cards, caring for her pets and especially the time she spent with her loving family.
Survivors include her daughters Lilly Belle Carson of San Luis, Colo.; Louise Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Cindy Borrego of San Luis, Colo.; sons William "Weeds" Carson of Ft. Garland, Colo.; Victor (Martina) Carson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Lee Carson of San Luis, Colo.; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore Carson, two sons Clyde and Fred Carson, one grandson Teddy Carson, and one great-grandson Juan Miguel Lucero.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis. Another Rosary will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the San Francisco Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. also at the San Francisco Catholic Church. Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday from 1-5 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis who is in care of the arrangements.
