QUINLAN, Esta of Houston. Age 88. Died 1/18/1983 in a Houston nursing home after a long illness. Services in Niday Funeral Home, Houston. Burial and graveside services in IOOF Cemetery, Rockdale. Rev. Robert Lam of First Presbyterian Church officiated at the graveside services.

She was BORN 11/22/1894, the daughter of Rockdale pioneers, Cornelius & Mary Copeland Stribling. Mrs. Quinlan served as librarian and school secretary at Rockdale in the 1930's.

SURVIVORS: Son, George C. Quinlan of Houston; daughter, Mary Grissom of Houston; 5 sisters, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Esta Stribling went to Rockdale High School with my g-grandmother's sister, Cassie Foster. I have the Commencement Exercise Program. Graduation took place on May 12th 1911, at City Hall. If her family contacts me, I will gladly share a copy with them.Rest...(Read more)
