Ms. Freddie Q. Bass, 88, passed at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, West 1, in Columbus, GA on March 30, 2012. Funeral held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL with Bro. Billy Duncan of Beallwood Baptist Church officiating. Private burial at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.

Daughter of Willie Floyd Quattlebaum and Minnie Lee Stewart Quattlebaum. Wife of Jack Bass, Crawford, AL.

Preceded in death by husband Jack Bass and siblings Robert Eugene, Willie Carvis, James Wesley Quattlebaum, Frankie Machowski, Nettie Mercer and Vivian Antley.

Ms. Bass was a cashier at Kruger Grocery store in South Columbus and the Ft. Benning Post Exchange. Prior to retirement, she was a cloth inspector for Bibb Manufacturing in Bibb City. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening and was well known for her Sour Cream Pound Cake.

Survivors: daughter Peggy (Stephen) Barkey of Ellerslie, GA; son Thomas Wayne Bass of Astor, FL, (Linda Freeman of Albany, GA.) Grandchildren include: Michelle Linn (Robert) Henry of Riverton, WY, Rachelle Linn (Chris) Buck of Phenix City, AL, Terese Elizabeth (Wayne) Glover of Columbus, GA, Matthew Wayne Bass of Panama City, FL and Joshua Caleb (Carianne) Bass of Melbourne, FL. Great-grandchildren include: Tyler Wade Franklin and Sydney Ryanne Buck of Phenix City, AL, Megan Ashley Evans of Columbus, GA, Deyton Michael Henry of Riverton, WY and Taylor Glover of Phenix City, AL. Great-great-grandchildren include: Maddox and Bentley Glover of Phenix City, AL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
