Amanda was the daughter of Joseph Pyle and Harriett Shepler. She married James Nicholas Collins on December 31, 1874 in Grant Co., Ind. The couple had three children; Edith "Eda" Jemima H., Ella Blanch, and Burley Walter.
Fairmount, Feb. 7, - Mrs. Amanda J. Collins, 67, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James C. Albertson, as the result of a stroke of paralysis which she suffered last Sunday.
She was the widow of the late James Nicholas Collins and had lived in Fairmount for many years.
Funeral services were held on Thursday.
Burial was made in the Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
