Elva Lawler, 91, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett of the church officiating. Entombment will be in Llano Mausoleum by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.
Mrs. Lawler died Thursday, Feb. 6, on her 91st birthday. Mrs. Lawler moved to Amarillo from Silverton in 1925. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1930. After graduation, she was employed at Kress Drug Store on Polk Street. It was there she met Frank Lawler. They were married on June 25, 1938. Frank and Elva joined First Presbyterian Church on March 23, 1948. Elva was a member of Amanda McFarland Circle of First Presbyterian Church and FM Chapter of P.E.O.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 31, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Annette Doche and husband, Jim, of Amarillo; a son, Don Lawler and wife, Cathy, of Austin; a sister, Iva Belle Hail; a brother, R.T. Pyeatt; five grandchildren, Armand Doche, Shanna Lawler, Denise Thornton, Don Lawler II and Dionne Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren, Brittany Thornton, Blane Thornton, Jordyn Doche, Sean Doche, Jake Lawler, Ben Lawler and Rylee Johnson.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice and Olivia's Angels, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176.
The family will be at 3708 Julie Drive.
