Mrs. Cannon Stricken, Dies on Hawaii Trip
Mrs. George W. Cannon Sr. of 480 Circle, North Muskegon, wife of the cofounder of Campbell, Wyant and Cannon Foundry Co. and matriarch of the widely-known Muskegon family, died unexpectedly Thursday while on vacation in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was about 80.
In ill health in recent years, Mrs. Cannon died while napping, prior to going for a drive with her husband. The couple had been in Hawaii since November. They had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October 1969.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, George W., Jr., president of Cannon-Muskegon Corp. and William J., president of Nugent Sand Co., two daughters, Mrs. John E. Frederick, North Muskegon and Mrs. William Nichols of New York, and a number of grandchildren.
